Newman’s were contacted by a local structural engineer who had been monitoring the cracking and progressive lintel failure to this three storey rear outrigger.

The stone lintels on all three storeys had failed causing them to drop and lose all structural integrity and allowed the masonry above to drop showing 1-4mm staggered cracking; a common defect to these Victorian built rear additions.

Traditional methods of repair such as remove and replace are not necessary with modern methods of lintel repair which utilising the helical bar system. We create deep masonry beams within the bed joint distributing structural loads combined with resin injection systems reinstating the structural integrity of the lintels.
